Carrie & Rick’s Wedding Day – A Joyful Celebration in Atherton
Every wedding is unique, and Carrie & Rick’s day was no exception. Their beautiful wedding at St George’s Church in Atherton was filled with love, laughter, and a few personal touches that made it truly special.
Planning the Perfect Spot
A week before the big day, I visited the church to explore the surroundings. While the grounds at St George’s were limited for large formal photographs, We were able to find a perfect nearby grassed area that offered the space and backdrop needed. On the day, this location worked wonderfully for their group and couple portraits.
Arrivals - Calm & Excited
Rick arrived early, which gave us a great opportunity to capture some relaxed portraits of him before the ceremony. He looked fantastic and calm, ready for the most important day of his life. As guests arrived and made their way into the church, the atmosphere grew with excitement and anticipation.

Carrie's Arrival
Carrie arrived looking absolutely stunning, walking proudly with her dad to the entrance of the church. We paused for a few moments of photography before she made her way inside to join Rick. As the wedding party walked down the aisle, complete with their beautifully dressed dog, Frank, the emotion in the room built. When Carrie entered with her proud father, Rick’s eyes welled with emotion as he saw his bride walking towards him. It was a moment of pure beauty.

A Ceremony Full of Joy
The ceremony was everything a couple could hope for – heartfelt, joyful, and unforgettable. One highlight came when Carrie and Rick played a light-hearted game of Mr & Mrs in front of their guests. The laughter and applause that filled the church showed just how loved and supported they are by family and friends.

Just Married
As Carrie and Rick walked together down the aisle as husband and wife, their smiles said it all. Following the ceremony, we headed to the outdoor location we had scouted earlier. The confetti shot – always a “one chance moment” – was picture-perfect, with so much fun and energy from their guests.

Formals Together

The group photos flowed naturally, and then we enjoyed some quieter time with Carrie, Rick, and Frank. Capturing the three of them together felt so special, and the natural portraits we created quickly became some of their favourites.
A Personal Touch Along the Way
Although Carrie & Rick had booked a half-day package, we were able to travel with them to their evening venue. On the way, we made a meaningful stop at a location close to Carrie’s heart – the place where her mum had worked for many years. Capturing a photograph here was incredibly important to her, and it was a privilege to document such a personal moment.

Evening Celebrations
We then joined the couple and their guests at the evening venue for more relaxed photography. This part of the day allowed for candid, natural moments that really highlighted the joy and atmosphere of the celebrations.

Final Thoughts
Carrie & Rick’s wedding was a perfect blend of heartfelt emotion, laughter, and personal touches that made their day truly their own. It was a joy to capture every moment, from the tears at the altar to the confetti in the air, and even Frank’s star turn in front of the camera.
A day to remember – and one we felt honoured to photograph.
