Charlotte & Adam


Charlotte & Adam are a true love story in how they met on a sunny holiday and quickly fell in love. Adam is from Newcastle and such was the adoration for Charlotte he soon relocated to the North West of England. Adam is a massive Newcastle football fan so had a black and white theme within the day to show a nod of his heritage and sporting allegiance. It was a perfect addition the day.


Charlotte met with Damian a couple of weeks before to discuss any last minute plans at the planned venue of Alder Root Golf Club. It is always wonderful to take the time to meet in this way and whenever possible Damtoria Photography do this as an opportunity to feel a connection with our clients and them also to us. It is especially important if a couple are nervous about their photography as we understand that not everyone is comfortable in front on the lens. Charlotte and Damian enjoyed a hot drink and verified everything to the letter which was great and allowed Charlotte to feel at ease with our service and this makes such a difference when the day arrives.

Alder Root Golf Club


The day was to take place at Alder Root Golf Club. This is a private, parkland golf course located in Warrington, Cheshire. Alder Root Golf Club offers a picturesque setting for weddings and special events. The club provides both a clubhouse and a marquee, surrounded by beautiful golf course scenery, perfect for memorable photo opportunities. They offer various wedding and function packages, allowing you to choose a plan that suits your preferences or create a bespoke plan with their dedicated team. It was a perfect venue and an excellent choice by Charlotte & Adam.

Arrivals


Adam was first to arrive in a beautiful white Rolls Royce and it certainly attracted a lot of attention from the golfers who were at the golf club for their morning tee off. It is always a pleasure to have this time with the groom prior to the wedding as we are often the reassurer and also the first person to tell them how good they look. It is true that often the groom is forgotten about and they have also made a great effort to look their most 'dapper'. Adam was very refined in his black tuxedo and the black and white theme was already visible in his choice of clothing and the ceremony room. We managed a few photographs before he was called away to greet some of their guests and have a quick drink for his nerves. The Rolls Royce then set off to collect Charlotte ready for the ceremony ahead.

Pre Ceremony


Charlotte arrived in perfect time and Adam and their guests were all seated in the marquee awaiting her arrival. They had a wonderful serenade from their guitar player who not only entertained the guests beforehand but was integral to the atmosphere and romance for this perfect moment.

Ceremony


The ceremony was perfect and celebrated the joining of Charlotte and Adam together as husband & wife.

Formal Photography


As this was a November wedding it was inevitable we would have to hope for the best English weather can give us. When Charlotte & Damian had met prior to the wedding we planned how and where formal shots would be taken but that was before we had some inclement weather before their day so the grass area was too wet and previously identified steps posed a risk to slipping. So as is often the case Damian & Danny from Damtoria Photography quickly reconfigured plans. One such change was Damian joining Charlotte & Adam for a drive in the Rolls Royce which was great for some more personal photographs but equally and honour to spend time with them.

Speeches


One thing we always look forward to are the speeches as they offer a real perspective of emotion, humour and often remembrance. In honesty each speech was fantastic and very personal which really added to this privileged time. As a photographer we never forget the role we are given and the absolute honour we have to have access to such amazing moments and we never take them for granted and we always remember them.

Charlotte & Adam


The next part of the day was such a hoot! We all climbed on a golf buggy and with Damian & Danny holding onto the back for dear life with our cameras, tripods, soft box and camera bag we drove to the key location the golf club use for their main wedding shots. On arrival it was far too wet and impractical for Charlotte or Adam. Fortunately Charlotte & Damian did a quick walk around when they visited 2 weeks before and at that time we had identified other possible alternatives so we quickly drove over to this section of the golf course. It was a perfect reminder about preparation! We had an amazing time creating some wonderful couple shots which we love to reflect on and remember us all on the golf buggy!

The Evening


As is often the case the day is soon over and the party commences. The marquee had been changed to host the evening and just like the day had been it was perfect. The guests were amazing and Charlotte and Adam had a fantastic time. It was super to create some key party shots but also use our creativity to add some elements that only Charlotte & Adam would have away from the guests. One stand out photograph for us which showed the fun and frivolity of the evening was the one we set up of Charlotte pouring a pint of beer for Adam which they both shared together as a couple cocktail! The significance of this shot was from Adam's speech in which he recalled meeting Charlotte on holiday and on asking if he could buy her a drink and she told him she would have a pint! It also highlighted how important the speeches are for giving everyone inside moments of the couple and their love story.
